Defining the Family

The three great institutions created by God are the family, civil government, and the Church. The first institution to be established was the family, perhaps because of its importance in God’s plan for human development and relationships. In the book of Genesis, chapter 2, God created Woman for Man and established the foundation for the family’s design when he declared, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” (Gen 2:24, NKJV)
