Defining the Family
The three great institutions created by God are the family, civil government, and the Church. The first institution to be established was the family, perhaps because of its importance in God’s plan for human relationships and redemption. In the second chapter of the book of Genesis, God created Woman for Man and established the foundation for the family’s design when he declared, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” (Gen 2:24, NKJV)

Human Life
The Bible is very clear on the sinfulness of destroying innocent human life. In the Ten Commandments, God declares, “You shall not murder” in Exodus 20:13 (NKJV). In Exodus 21:22, God makes a provision for punishing anyone who kills an unborn child. In Psalm 139:13-14, King David refers to his own origin in his mother’s womb.
God urges us to respect and defend human life in Deuteronomy 30:19-20, where He declares, “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life so that you and your children may live, and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice and hold fast to him. (NKJV)

Biblical Morality
As our Creator, God has complete authority over His creation, including human beings in the area of sexual behavior. The Bible declares fornication, homosexuality, extra-marital sex and other acts of immorality to be sinful. Such acts are grievous to God and repulsive because they reject God’s design for physical intimacy with a life-long spouse. FPN’s opposition to immorality and indecency is based on a desire to be faithful to God and His written Word. (For more information on FPN Principles, click here.)
