Christian Activist Questions President’s Remarks About Jesus Christ

Forest, VA –A Christian pro-family activist is taking President Bush to task for comments he made recently, rejecting the exclusive deity of the God of the Bible. On October 5, 2007, President Bush told reporter Elie Nakouzi of Islamic television station Al Arabiya that he believes adherents of all religions — including Muslims and Christians — “pray to the same God.”

Family Policy Network Policy Analyst Alexander Mason said the remarks represent a fundamental heresy about the nature of God found in Scripture. “Even though President Bush is entitled to his opinion, his statement directly contradicts the words of Jesus Christ Himself, namely in John 14:6,” said Mason.

“President Bush’s comments reveal he is a dyed-in-the-wool universalist. The idea that “all paths lead to God”, which has always been deemed heretical by theologians, is being proclaimed by George W. Bush,” Mason continued. “It’s clear the president’s quarrel is not with the millions of evangelicals who would disagree with him, but rather with Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who stated, ‘No man comes to the Father but by me.’”

-Scripture is extremely clear that there is only one way to Heaven: Jesus Christ. Below are five passages from the Bible that attest to salvation through Christ alone.

John 14:6“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Acts 4:12“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Romans 10:9-11“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”

Philippians 2:10,11“At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

I Timothy 2:5,6“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
