Pro-family Leader Doubts Hillary Clinton Will Seek Presidency
A Virginia-based pro-family activist says he doesn’t think Hillary Clinton wants to be president of the United States, despite the ongoing buzz about her possible campaign push in 2008. He says he believes the former first lady has her eyes on another prize.
Joe Glover, president of the Family Policy Network (FPN), believes the New York senator has already experienced the presidency during her years in the White House with husband Bill and has realized that, at most, her influence from the Oval Office would only last eight years.
On the other hand, says Glover, decisions handed down from the Supreme Court can last for decades. “When the Supreme Court makes decisions, they’re called the law of the land,” the Virginia activist observes. “That’s why my prediction is that Hillary Clinton has no interest in serving as president. She may run for president — in fact, she probably will — just long enough to crown the successor for the Democratic nomination.”
The FPN leader suggests that Clinton would then make a promise to that successor along the lines of “You make sure that you remember me. I’ll make sure you’re president; you make sure that I’m on the Supreme Court.”
Glover says Senator Clinton is in the Senate right now making friends with those members who could facilitate her nomination to the high court in the future.
