Homosexual Rainbow Flag Reminds Why God Sent a Flood

A fair in Antelope Valley, California is under fire for removing rainbow-colored flags from the fairgrounds.

After hearing complaints from fairgoers about the pro-homosexual symbolism of rainbow flags, fair organizers took them down, saying they were unaware of the symbolism and citing their desire to avoid taking a position on the issue.

But predictably, homosexuals and their sympathizers are now labeling the fair as bigoted and homophobic for removing the flags. They want their sin to be acknowledged and even celebrated with the public display of “gay rainbow” flags.

This celebration of sin is nothing new.

Genesis tells us that in the days of Noah, the earth was totally corrupted with sin:

“Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5).

Everyone was doing what was right in their own eyes, including sexually. Evil was so widespread that God sent a worldwide flood to cleanse the earth of sin.

After the flood waters receded, God promised Noah that he would never flood the whole earth again. He sealed this promise with a rainbow in the sky, a symbol intended by God to remind us of His promise each time we see it.

Sadly, each time we see a homosexual rainbow flag waving nowadays, we are not reminded of God’s gracious promise.

Instead, we are reminded of the reason God flooded the earth in the first place: the widespread and unashamed embrace of sin.

Hope for Homosexuals
The truth is that all people are sinners in God’s eyes. The Word of God says that there is none righteous, not even one person (Romans 3:10). It goes on to say that ALL humans have sinned and that ALL humans fall short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). But Scripture also promises that if anyone is in Christ he is a new creature, old things pass away and all things become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The only hope for sinners (homosexual and heterosexual alike) is faith in Jesus Christ: “All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13). God’s love is not reserved for people who have always had everything “straight.” Instead, God desires to have a relationship with those who have gone astray. And while there is a great price to be paid for our sin; God has already paid it in full. Hope can be yours today if you will open your heart.

Leviticus 18:22

22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.
