The latest attack on Crisis Pregnancy Centers from liberal politicians is over advertising.

Officials in San Francisco want to introduce an initiative that would stop “limited-services pregnancy centers” from producing what they call “misleading advertising.” The city attorney’s office has informed First Resort, a crisis pregnancy center, that its advertising must affirm that the office does not offer abortions.

City officials claim the clinic is breaking the law by “misrepresenting itself as an abortion provider” in order to lure women into its office. But Mike Zimmerman of the California Republican Assembly points out that “Planned Parenthood directs people toward abortion.

Meanwhile, the clinic’s chief executive says she’s confident that First Resort has not misled women and is complying with state and federal laws.
