6/15/11: Minnesota’s Marriage Amendment Won’t Protect Marriage

Podcast: Download (Duration: 1:00 — 1.4MB)

A marriage amendment will be on the Minnesota ballot in 2012 but the proposal has several problems according to the Family Policy Network.

The proposal merely defines marriage as the union between one man and one woman. But FPN says a marriage amendment that does nothing to protect against all types of unions misses the point of protecting the institution of the family. As events in other states have proven, homosexual activists will take advantage of weak marriage amendments to create marriage impostors, or homosexual unions that look like marriage in almost every way but name

FPN says marriage impostors erode the traditional, God-given institution of marriage to an unrecognizable unit of cohabitational ‘partnership’ between two humans, regardless of their gender.
