[FPN -2007] A Christian pro-family organization worked with supporters and allies throughout the nation in 2007 to run an evangelistic outreach to homosexuals, designed to confront attendees at so-called “gay pride” events with the truth that Jesus Christ can set them free from sexual sin.

The Virginia-based Family Policy Network (FPN) spearheaded a campaign called “Project Hope Days,” wherein it flew airplane banners over pro-homosexual events throughout the nation that read, “JESUS CHRIST: WWW. HOPE FOR HOMOSEXUALS .COM.” The banners were flown over so-called “gay pride” parades and other events that were designed to celebrate sexual sin in several major cities, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Los Angeles, Orlando, Sandusky (OH) and San Francisco.

Hope Banner flights over some other cities like Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Philadelphia and San Francisco were sponsored by FPN allies like Americans for Truth, Mission America, American Family Association of Michigan, Repent America, and Defend the Family International, respectively.

FPN first established the “hopeforhomosexuals.com” website in 2001 to encourage practicing homosexuals to “come out” of that destructive lifestyle, and to embrace the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. The website features stirring testimonies from former homosexuals, an explanation of God’s plan to redeem those who are willing to repent, information warning about the destructive nature of homosexuality, and contact information for groups that assist people who desire to repent of sexual sin.

FPN President Joe Glover expressed his concerns for the participants in so-called “gay pride” events throughout 2007 by saying, “Homosexuality is nothing to celebrate. It has grave consequences, both physical and spiritual.” He said, “The hope of all who sin — including homosexuals — is the opportunity to turn away from sin, and to embrace the redemption God makes available through the atoning death of His Son, Jesus Christ on the cross.”

Previous to 2007, FPN had worked with co-sponsors throughout the nation to fly the Hope Banner over pro-homosexual events in California, Florida, Massachusetts, Massachusetts, Michigan, Texas and Virginia. In 2007, FPN’s Hope banner flew over attendees at “gay pride” parades in several U.S. cities, including Charlotte, North Carolina; Chicago, Illinios; Los Angeles, California; Columbus, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; Orlando, Florida; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; San Fransisco, California, and over an unofficial “gay day” event on Father’s Day at the Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio.
