Sexualizing Children is Just Another Way Society Rejects God
A French company has come out with a line of lacy, frilly, silky, possibly even seductive undergarments for girls as young as four.
The repugnant ad campaign from the company, Jours Après Lunes, shows young girls dressed in suggestive clothing in even more suggestive poses. The shocking photos amount to little more than child pornography.
Sadly, this risqué ad campaign is not an uncommon phenomenon in our sex-crazed culture. Retailers often make headlines for their efforts to include younger children in their sexually-suggestive ad campaigns (e.g., Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle). Even certain television shows seem to glorify the objectification and sexualization of young girls (e.g., TLC’s Toddlers and Tiaras).
Why is the sexualization of children becoming more common? American culture has rejected God’s standards for sex, as evidenced by the growing popularity and desensitization to homosexuality, adultery, pornography, pre-marital sex, etc. One of the last remaining frontiers is the sexualization of children, which is now occurring rapidly.
Retailers like Jours Après Lunes are only the front lines in an ever-advancing army bent on normalizing perversion. Though such retailers are still met with vocal opposition nowadays, history shows that the culture will become more and more desensitized to the perversion as time goes on.
This is a direct consequence of the pornographic culture in which we live. Americans have surrounded themselves with pornography and sex, but are now drowning in the very thing they thought would bring happiness and pleasure.
America is much like the doomed young man who King Solomon described in Proverbs 7:
For at the window of my house
I looked through my lattice,
And saw among the simple,
I perceived among the youths,
A young man devoid of understanding,
Passing along the street near her corner;
And there a woman met him,
With the attire of a harlot, and a crafty heart.
With her enticing speech she caused him to yield,
With her flattering lips she seduced him.
Immediately he went after her, as an ox goes to the slaughter,
Or as a fool to the correction of the stocks,
Till an arrow struck his liver.
As a bird hastens to the snare,
He did not know it would cost his life (Proverbs 7:6-8, 10, 21-23, NKJV).
America’s increasingly perverted desire for sexual pleasure is evidence of God’s judgment, as seen in the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans. Because many Americans have exchanged the truth about God and His law for a lie, God has “given them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves” (Romans 1:24, NKJV).
National repentance is needed. Unless America turns from her wickedness and pursuit of sexual pleasure outside God’s good boundaries, she will meet an end similar to that of the foolish young man in Proverbs 7.

Proverbs 7:24-27
Now therefore, listen to me, my children;
Pay attention to the words of my mouth:
Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways,
Do not stray into her paths;
For she has cast down many wounded,
And all who were slain by her were strong men.
Her house is the way to hell,
Descending to the chambers of death.(NKJV)
