World-renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson says he received many positive comments from his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast last month but that he also was attacked by many who resented his negative comments about President Barack Obama’s policies.
In his speech, Carson blasted the nation’s $16.4 trillion debt, its cumbersome tax system — and its “inefficient” healthcare system — all as Obama sat at the dais, showing no reaction.
Carson, who made his comments on the Sean Hannity show, declined to say if he was weighing a White House run. Carson retires from medicine this summer.
As for the $85 billion in broad government budget cuts that took place on March 1 under the sequester, Carson said “They’re not going to cut the muscle; they’re going to cut the fat.”
