Concern Growing Over Loss of Religious Liberty in US
A majority of American adults, especially Christians, are concerned about restrictions on religious liberty in the United States, according to a new Barna Group survey. The study also found that One-third of American adults “believe religious freedoms have grown worse in the last decade,” especially practicing Protestants and Evangelicals.
American Christians have good reason to be concerned. Last year, the growing threat to religious liberty was documented in a study by the Liberty Institute, which reported over 600 incidents of religious hostility against Christians in the United States over the past decade. The most common incidents of religious hostility featured in the 140-page report involved attacks on religious liberty in the public arena, at school, and against churches and other ministries.
