Abortion’s entrenchment is medical training in the US is on display in Kansas where lawmakers are looking to pass legislation to ensure that tax dollars are not used to pay for abortion.
The bill is called the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act.” Included was a provision that bars state employees from being involved in abortion. That’s when an accrediting agency notified The University of Kansas Medical Center that it would lose its accreditation. To be accredited school must provide access to abortion training.
No abortions are performed at the KU Medical center but residents receive abortion training off-site. Any resident who has a moral or religious objection to the procedure may opt out. That accommodation is now being challenged as is the notion that tax dollars should not pay for the procedure.
