FPN President Says ERLC Head Not Focused

The Southern Baptist Convention’s Richard Land has lost his nationally syndicated radio program over insensitive comments he made about the Trayvon Martin case.

FPN President Joe Glover says “Mr. Land has a tendency to inject himself into things that aren’t at the heart of Southern Baptist, or for that matter, Christian concerns in Washington, DC.”

Glover points out this isn’t he first time “Land’s ambitious personality has gotten him in trouble.” He says “many Southern Baptists were deeply troubled to learn he was advising Mitt Romney on how to make himself more appealing to Evangelicals despite having such a horrible record on social and economic issues as governor. It’s hard to imagine Biblical characters like Daniel or Nathan acting so politically pragmatic in scripture.”
