Preservation of Life and Family Will Always Be More Important than a Good Economy

Apparently, a new poll conducted by the Wall Street Journal indicates that a majority of Republican primary voters agree with Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels’ repeated insistence on a nationwide political “truce” on social issues like abortion and homosexual “marriage.”

Governor Daniels has, on multiple occasions, asked that Republicans focus on economic issues rather than social issues. The new poll seems to indicate that most Republican primary voters would be more likely to vote for a candidate who embraces such a retreat.

This is sad.

Focusing on economic issues while largely ignoring the plight of the thousands of children murdered everyday is immoral. It would be selfish and short-sighted for Americans to concentrate solely on making ourselves more prosperous while the blood of innocents cries out to us.

Some things are more important than money.

The latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll appears to vindicate Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels’s repeated insistence that the country needs a ‘truce’ on fights over social issues while it grapples with its mounting economic challenges.

1 Peter 2:13-15
Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men—(NKJV)
