Repealing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is still wrong. The validity of God’s sexual standards are not subject to opinion polls. To repeal DADT would be a grave error on the part of the US government; the move would be a large step toward legitimization of a deadly, dangerous, and sinful behavior.http://ow.ly/31ZOi

Family Policy Network Cecile Richards, the CEO of abortion mega-business Planned Parenthood, recently appeared on the Bill Press Radio Show. During her interview, she advocated population control so as to save the government money. Richards hopes that the US government will provide more money to abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood so they can distribute chemical birth control.

Cecile Richards knows that more and more Americans are becoming pro-life and anti-abortion. She knows defending surgical abortion is a losing battle in light of all the recent scientific advancements that show the humanity of the unborn. She also knows that most Americans have no idea of the abortifacient nature of many chemical birth control methods. As such, her goal is to decrease Planned Parenthood’s surgical abortion business and greatly increase its chemical abortion business.

Richards and her ilk are counting on the fact that most pro-lifers won’t object to greater distribution of birth control. After all, most of them don’t know it can cause abortion. Many of the pro-lifers who do know the abortive effects of chemical birth control may not protest as loudly simply because the silent death of a zygote is not as “visible” as the painful wrenching of a 6-month fetus undergoing surgical abortion. If Richards succeeds in convincing the American government to fund birth control in order to “save money,” then the long-standing goal of pro-abortionists is still accomplished.

Family Policy Network Dr. Walter Schumm is about to find out first-hand how his fellow scientists treat those who question the status quo. He’s about to publish research indicating that homosexual parents are more likely to raise homosexual children. There is an intense amount of scrutiny and skepticism from the academic community against anyone who questions the “goodness” of homosexuality. Most social scientists and researchers have long since succumbed to the belief that homosexuality is a perfectly normal lifestyle. The few scientists and researchers who dare to question this conclusion are labeled as bigots and hacks.

But Dr. Schumm’s findings, which are well-researched and documented, will speak for themselves. He found that “58 percent of the children of lesbians called themselves gay, and 33 percent of the children of gay men called themselves gay.” Keep in mind that only about 5 percent of the children of heterosexual parents end up being homosexual. These figures will be back-breaking to the homosexual activists who seek to normalize gay parenting. Several times a year, homosexual activists come out with new “research” indicating children of homosexual parents are as healthy (or healthier) than children of heterosexual parents. This research is always flawed in various ways, but it is touted as gospel truth by those who want to allow homosexual adoption.

Dr. Schumm’s research is invaluable not because it gives us concrete scientific evidence that homosexual parenting is NOT the same as heterosexual parenting, but because it merely confirms what God has already told us in Scripture: Homosexual behavior is not normal and should not be treated as such in the eyes of the law. God, through His Word, has given humans a clear picture of the boundaries within which He intended human sexuality to operate. At several points in Scripture, God unequivocally declares homosexual behavior as outside of His intended boundaries. Certainly, society should not reward those who reject God’s intention for the home by allowing them to raise and indoctrinate children.

Family Policy Network No one would contest that reproductive science has advanced dramatically in recent years. A recent news story details this week’s birth of a baby that developed from an embryo frozen almost twenty years ago. While this advancement of science is hailed by many as a positive development, there is a dark side of the technology that remains untold.

The technology used to freeze embryos has been used on more than 400,000 embryos since the 1970s. Only a depressingly tiny fraction of that number have been implanted in the wombs of women in order to develop and be born. That means hundreds of thousands of tiny humans exist in storage at fertility clinics. There, they will either languish indefinitely or be destroyed in the pursuit of “research,” which is often funded with your tax dollars.

Family Policy Network The recent news stories regarding “bullying” against homosexuals are being promoted by homosexuals in order to rally sympathy to their agenda. Openly-homosexual Congressman Barney Frank recently remarked that these recent stories will galvanize “straights” to support the homosexual agenda in much the same way that the pictures of police dogs attacking black civil rights protesters helped solidify white support of the civil rights movement in the 1960s.

It is a shame that homosexual activists are capitalizing on these events in order selfishly promote their own legislative goals. Let’s be clear: No true Christian is defending the practice of making fun of students who think they’re “gay.” Bullying goes on in most schools for many reasons, not just against homosexuals. No matter the reason for bullying, it is wrong in every case. However, it is also necessary to stress that such behavior on the part of schoolyard (or even grown-up) bullies does not reflect the attitude of Christians who think Biblically about the issue of homosexuality.

Throughout the Old and New Testaments, God made clear His intention for sexual morality. His ideal of a one-man, one-woman, life-long union necessarily forbids adultery, incest, bestiality, pre-marital sex, and homosexuality. As such, Biblical Christian opposition to the legitimization of homosexual behavior is not rooted in hatred or fear, but rather a desire to honor and promote God’s clear intentions for sex.

Nowhere is the need to teach Biblical sexual morality greater than in the upcoming generation. They are bombarded on every front with messages that it’s okay to explore (and even question) their sexuality however they want. It’s leading to a generation that knows nothing of God’s good purposes for sex. Efforts on the part of homosexual activists to encourage children in their confusion are dangerous and must be opposed. Indeed, these pied pipers of “experimentation” will greatly regret on Judgment Day their leading of children into sin.

FPN is committed to being Biblically faithful in our opposition to homosexual behavior AND Biblically compassionate in our response to those ensnared in it. That’s why FPN created www.hopeforhomosexuals.com. If you or anyone you know is struggling with this issue, please know you are not alone. Family Policy Network This year, Dr. Robert Edwards was awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine. Edwards is credited with the development of in vitro fertilization (IVF), which is the process of fertilizing an egg outside the womb. Once fertilized, the newly-conceived human zygote is placed in a woman’s uterus in the hopes that a successful implantation will occur. The process of IVF is seen by most in the medical community as a major breakthrough in fertility technology, and millions of children have been born as a result of IVF technology.

However, the treatment is more ethically problematic than most people know. It is an unethical practice because it commonly results in the creation of embryos without any likelihood of implantation. As a result, countless tiny humans are now languishing in freezers without hope of ever being implanted. Of the fertilized zygotes that are implanted in women, many of them are killed in the process, which is why IVF treatment often involves placing several fertilized embryos in a woman’s womb with a goal that at least one will successfully implant in her uterus.

From the moment of conception, these zygotes are humans, and should be treated as such. They are uniquely human, with a particular human DNA structure never to be replicated ever again. Creating countless tiny humans with no intention to allow them to develop is wrong. Implanting several tiny humans in a woman’s womb with full knowledge that many will not survive is also wrong. Dr. Edwards’ recent Nobel Prize award should make us question our motives. If the advancement of science is more valued than the protection of innocent human lives, such “advancement” is eternally worthless. The God of the Bible who gave us science is the same God who calls us to protect the innocent around us.

He is the God Who set planets in motion, Who founded the Earth upon its pillars, and Who commands the boundaries of the seas. But He is also the very same God Who sees the tiny sparrow fall, Who clothes the lilies in splendor, and Who carefully knits together tiny children in the womb. Pursuing scientific understanding is a good thing, but it must not ever devalue the image of God in our fellow human beings.

Family Policy Network A recent ruling by the Maine Human Rights Commission is sending shock waves through the state. The commission reprimanded a state middle school for its refusal to allow a male student to use the girls’ bathroom. The confused middle-school student thinks he is a girl, so now school officials will be forced to reinforce his sexual confusion by allowing him to be in the bathroom with his female peers.

The story illustrates just how far our society has strayed from Biblical sexual norms. When states set up entire commissions to investigate, among other things, the sexual well-being of “transgender” middle-school students, it becomes obvious that the full weight of societal sympathy is beholden to homosexual activists.

Shame on Maine’s educational leaders. By reprimanding school officials who understand that middle-school bathrooms should not be mixed-sex, they are capitulating to the agenda of homosexual activists and legitimizing abnormal behavior in the minds of countless impressionable children.
