Christian Worldview Classes Can Continue

Christian Worldview courses at American high schools can continue. The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear a South Carolina case where public high school students take off-campus religion courses for school credit. The Spartanburg County School District’s program offers a “Christian Worldview” class at a neighboring religious school.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation brought the suit arguing that the district is endorsing religion. No court has agreed.

Oran Smith of the Palmetto Family Council, a pro-family group,” says this is good news for Spartanburg High students. The policy is based on state law, and the material is evaluated using secular criteria. Smith says the courses provide a significant opportunity. He points out that the classes teach the Bible the Word of God.
