Phoenix Pastor Remains in Jail for Holding Home Bible Studies
Efforts are being made to free a Phoenix man who was recently jailed for holding Bible studies at his home. Michael Salman was ordered to jail for 60 days and fined $12,000.
The state Supreme Court denied a motion from John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute to free Salman but the request has been re-filed with the argument that the court did not apply the proper law.
Meanwhile the police are telling Suzanne Salman that they’re going to checking to make sure that she’s not holding Bible studies. Whitehead says that threat is a violation of the Fourth Amendment.
While in jail, Salman has promised to continue his bible studies but jail officials ordered him to work on Sundays and stop conducting Bible studies with about 30 jail inmates. They have since backed off that position.
