Read What Californians Are Saying About Universal, Tax-Payer Funded Abortion in Health Care “Reform”

[FPN] – Residents across the state of California are voicing their opposition to a congressional proposal that would use taxpayer money to pay for abortions under the guise of so-called health care “reform”. Pro-family Californians are signing Family Policy Network’s petition urging both houses of Congress and President Obama to reject health care “reform” that provides universal abortion funding on the backs of American taxpayers.

The text of the petition reads as follows:

Please OPPOSE any and all attempts to include funding and/or mandates for abortions in health care “reform” legislation.

Destroying innocent human life is not “reform” by any means. The Bible clearly states “Thou Shalt Not Murder.” Our nation should not engage in the slaughter of its citizens and I should not be forced to fund it.

Many Californians who signed the petition opposing taxpayer-funded abortion added their own comments to the statement above. Here is a sampling of those comments:

    • Kate H. in Kelseyville, CA writes, “Please protect the lives of these unborn babies! God has a wonderful plan for each one of their precious lives!”

    • Mike and Diane F. in Paradise, CA write, “They have a voice, too; its time to listen.”

    • Maryal B. in Placerville, CA writes, “May we all be a voice for the unborn and remind others that abortion kills babies.”

    • Kalli W. in Aguanga, CA writes, “This bill is BEYOND disgusting, it’s evil. I refuse to pay for this service, and hospitals and health care systems should not be forced to take part it in, either!”

    • Randy H. in Rancho Cucamonga, CA writes, “All life deserves a chance.”

    • Guy S. in Kelseyville, CA writes, “I do not approve of funding abortions.”

    • Lois C. in Petaluma, CA writes, “We have lost our moral compass as a nation, especially when elected leaders use our tax dollars as part of a health care reform bill to fund abortions. If, as a nation, we continue in this destructive, willful path, these choices will bring serious consequences with long-term impact to us all. Your decisions will be weighed in the outcome.”

    • Charity H. in Santa Rosa, CA writes, “Abortions are not health care.”

    • Steven F. in Victorville, CA writes, “Abortion is an act of violence that kills a baby. I do not wish to pay for this. Everyone gets a choice except the baby.”

    • Rafael and Marie C. in Chino Hills, CA write, “I thought that the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) was not going to happen and that taxpayers would not be forced to fund abortions. However, the abortion lobby has found a way to get the cornerstone issue of FOCA passed – they’re trying to got taxpayers to fund abortions through the proposed healthcare reform bills. I don’t want to be forced to subsidize abortions and I don’t think the government has the right to force its citizens to pay for such a procedure.”

    • Brenda S. in Olivehurst, CA writes, “It is WRONG to make us pay for other’s mistakes! It is wrong to have an abortion in the first place!”

    • Susan F. in Bakersfield, CA writes, “We have so much medical and scientific proof that life begins at conception.”

    • Phyllis S. in Windsor, CA writes, “I have two cats and I love them dearly, but I think it’s a shame that they have more of a right to life than a unborn baby does. If I did to my cats what an abortion does to a baby, I would be put in prison for it. May God forgive us for having no respect for life.”

    • Winnie H. in Brentwood, CA writes, “We are all fearfully and wonderfully made.”

    • Jeffrey H. in Pacifica, CA writes, “Ronald Reagan said, ‘And I notice that everyone that is for abortion has already been born.”
